When the dish is yours, words beat a photo: you know the oil, the sugar and the weight, and a picture does not. A voice note and a typed line go the same way — the bot reads the sentence, offers the numbers and waits for your word.
Before you start
You need the chat with the bot in Telegram, nothing installed. For a voice note, Telegram asks for the microphone once; if you turn it down, the same sentence typed works exactly the same.
Step by step
- Open the chat with the bot.
- Say it or write it in one sentence: what it was and how much. «Oatmeal, 60 g, with milk and a coffee» is enough.
- For a voice note, hold the microphone button, speak, let go. The bot says it is listening, then shows what it heard.
- Read what it understood — the dish, the weight it assumed, the calories and the protein, fat and carbohydrates that follow.
- Confirm, and the entry goes into today with the time you sent it.
What to say so it does not ask back
Name the food and the amount in the same sentence: grams, millilitres, a glass, a plate, two slices. Several things at once are fine — «two eggs, bread and a tea with sugar» becomes one meal. A sentence with no amount gets a question back instead of an entry.
If it heard the wrong thing
Write the correction in the same chat in plain words: «that was 200 g, not 100», «it was kefir, not milk». The entry is recounted and replaces the old one, so nothing is logged twice. A voice note that comes back as nonsense — a noisy street, a whisper — is faster to type than to repeat; the words you use often are the ones it recognises best, because your own recent foods are what it listens for.
What this does not cover
Words are an estimate like a photo: «a bowl of soup» is a guess about the bowl. When the amount matters to you, weigh it once and say the number — the same dish next time can be logged with «the usual», and nothing has to be weighed again.
