The quickest way into the diary: a photo of the plate, one look at what came back, and the entry is in. Recognition from a photo is an estimate, not a measurement — the numbers are yours to correct, and the correction is a sentence.
Before you start
You need the bot in Telegram — nothing else is installed, and starting is free. Shoot the plate from above in daylight if you can: a crowded plate and a dim kitchen are the two things that make the guess worse.
Step by step
- Open the chat with the bot in Telegram.
- Send the photo of the plate. One picture is enough; a caption is optional.
- Wait for the answer — the bot names the dish, the weight it assumed and the calories, protein, fat and carbohydrates that follow from it.
- Read the weight first. It is the number that moves everything else.
- Confirm the entry if it looks right. It goes into today with the time it was sent.
If the numbers are off
Write the correction in plain words in the same chat: «that was 200 g, not 100» or «it was chicken, not turkey». The entry is recounted and replaces the old one — nothing is logged twice. You can also ask the bot to look at the photo again.
What it cannot do
A photo does not show oil in the pan, sugar in the sauce or what is under the top layer. When the dish is yours, saying it in words — «pasta, 250 g, with butter» — is more exact than any picture.
